Cryo-electron microscopy of microtubules decorated with Kar3Vik1 heterodimers

Frozen-hydrated microtubules decorated with a dimeric Kar3Vik1 construct reveals obvious cooperative microtubule-binding properties. The cooperative binding creates a heterogeneous decoration pattern where some microtubules show full decoration on one side while the opposing side is free of motor decoration (red frame).
