MCDB Building Wireless up and running

New wireless networking service is expanding across the campus and the
MCD Biology building started receiving this service on Wednesday, June
27. These wireless changes will in no way impact wired network
connections.

From this point forward, when you connect to the wireless network, look
for and select the new SSID (wireless network identifier), UCB Wireless.

This new wireless service has been designed to provide full coverage in
the MCD Biology building and allows for increased roaming capabilities
with other buildings that are using UCB Wireless. For this reason,
personal wireless access points will be unnecessary and could in fact
disrupt wireless service in your building. If you discover gaps in
coverage in your building, they should be reported to the IT Service
Center. Also, if necessary, ITS will help coordinate the shutdown of
personal access points to assure wireless service integrity in MCDB.
