Most recently my group performed deep proteomic studies on blood from people with Down syndrome in order to discover what signaling protein alterations are responsible for the many phenotypes as well as their high level of variability. This work is ongoing at the Anschutz Medical Campus in the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome.  Previously my research centered on pre-mRNA splicing mechanisms in the nematode, C. elegans. We discovered that numerous operons exist in the genome of this animal.
