Executive Committee

Advises the Chair of the Department and discusses matters of concern to the Chair or any other member of the Department; makes recommendations to the Department and drafts policies for discussion by the full Department as requested by the Chair; annually recommends to the Chair appointments to committees; decides on nominees for internal and external faculty awards; acts as a Grievance Committee in cases of disputes between the Chair and the member of the Department; comments on and guides the Chair in the content of the budget, presented by the Chair; responsible for holding periodic competitions for bridge funding for faculty who have temporary lapses in funding. Membership: All members are elected by the faculty as a whole, following nominations from the floor. Membership includes Chairs of UGCOM, COGSA, FEC, and an assistant professor. Chair is ex officio member. Committee reports to Chair and faculty as a whole.
