Coordinator - Dr. Arthur Gutierrez-Hartman, UCHSC, (303) 270-8444

email: a.gutierrez-hartman@uchsc.edu

MCDB offers training for the Ph.D. component of the M.D./Ph.D. program administered by the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC). Admission is handled by UCHSC, and questions concerning the program should be directed to the Coordinator. Students take their first two years of courses and preliminary examination at the UCHSC. The students can rotate in MCDB laboratories during the summers. Upon selection of a MCDB laboratory for their thesis work, the students are required to take two semesters of "Methods and Logic" (MCDB 5220 and 5250) and defend their thesis proposal (Comprehensive examination) during their first year in MCDB. During their subsequent years, the students are required to speak in MMB and meet with their committee annually, until they defend their thesis. There is no teaching requirement for M.D./Ph.D. students.
