The Biotechnology Certificate program is a cooperative effort between Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry and MCDB. The Biotechnology Certificate program requires that students do one rotation outside MCDB, in Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering. Students are also required to take two Biotechnology courses (CHEN 5830, Introduction to Modern Biotechnology, 1 credit; CHEN 5831, Biotechnology Case Studies, 2 credits) and one 3 credit Bioengineering elective course. Students also do an industrial internship at one of the Biotechnology companies in Boulder, which is usually carried out during a summer.
