PC Copier Setup

You will need to be an administrative user to follow this tutorial and complete this installation.

Please note this is a two page tutorial click here to go directly to the second page.

To set up the new copier as a printer you will need to download the file from this link to your desktop or other chosen download location.

 

Copier Driver

 

This will download a program that looks like this to your desktop.

Please double click on this file to open the extractor. This window may not allow you to choose a destination for your file, if that is the case, change the "Unzip To Folder" to match the example on the left where "c" is the letter of your disk drive. Then click "unzip".

The next window you will see is the progress window.

When this process is completed you will see this window, click "OK" and close the extractor window from the previous steps by clicking "Close" .

If you had to input a path for this extraction please move the folder that was created (see below) to a place such as your desktop where you can more easily manage the files.

Inside this folder there will be another folder (see below) please open this folder.

Inside this folder click the setup icon as marked with the arrow below.

This will begin the installation of the drivers with the window seen below.

The next window will ask you to agree with the license agreement, click yes if you do.

The next window will ask you to select your printer installation type, choose manual and click next.

The next window will ask what you want to install, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you check the "Canon Driver Information Assist Service" box as marked with the arrow below, and then click next.

You may need to confirm that you want to create an exception in your firewall. Do so by clicking "Yes".
